Not out of Arizona YET!!!!

May 28-29, 2012

We left Bob's on May 28th and headed toward the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.  We decided to play it safe and camp in an established campground instead of looking for a "boondocking spot".  So we camped in Jacob Lake National Forest Campground that was 45 miles north of the Grand Canyon.  Keep in mind that since this was a National Forest the camping fees was 1/2 price with our Senior Pass.  Camp fee was only $8.50 per night.  I am really digging on this Senior Pass. When we went to the Grand Canyon...another freebie with our Pass!!!

Here is our camping spot for two nights....

We had the campground almost to ourselves.  We got there after everyone left from the Memorial Day weekend.

Here is what we found down the road...for free (a boondocking spot)

We have put this place in our memory bank to come back to at another time!!!!  (Just to give you a hint...these boondocking spots get better and better!!!)

We did go down to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon on May 29th.  We were able to visit with Mark and Christine, a couple that we had met while in Quartzsite over the winter.  They are doing the workamper thing and really enjoying themselves.

This is the point where Mark and Christine come to make
phone calls, it is the only place they have cell phone reception.
This would be tough to have to look at this when you
make a phone call!!!!

There is just no way to show the Grand Canyon in just a few pictures.....I think I took 25 pictures of this part of the park alone.

More things to do and places to see.......we are NOW leaving Arizona!!!!

Until next time....

Stay safe.

Jim and Barb
