CHRISTMAS IN THE DESERT

Christmas time this year was a bit different for us….we are in the desert away from family.  However, we did get to see the grandchildren open their presents on Christmas day.  Cassie had set us up on Skype and we were able to be there that way.  Just a note: Kids get up awfully early on Christmas morning, there is a two hour time difference between Ohio and Arizona.  So we got up at 3:30AM to get the computer fired up so we could be there on time.  Isn’t technology great?

Christmas is Christmas and it wouldn’t be Christmas with out the Christmas lights.  Here are a few that we found in the area:
Lights in a neighbor hood in Quartzsite.

Then there is the fellow that goes all out!!

This display was in a shed and was a little village.
The owner had 3-D glass to use and the lights turned into
Santa Faces or Snow flakes.

This is part of the village in the shed.
This is the lights Jim put up on our trailer.

There are other main events that happen around Christmas for us, Jim and my anniversary and my birthday.  This year we celebrated each one separately with our new desert family.

We went to Grubstake house for our anniversary with Pat and Nick, and Jerry and Deb.  Jim and Jerry ordered the seafood sampler platters; needless to say they were stuffed puppies when they were done with that:

Me, Jim and Nick on the Left.
It was nice to celebrate our Anniversary with new friends.

Seafood platter for 50, Jim ate it all by his self.

We had a bit of a sworay for my birthday.  We had to postpone if from the 23rd to the 27th.  It was very windy and cold on the 23rd.  We had a great turn out on the 27th.

Part of the group!

Getting ready for the bon fire!

Of course there was lots of FOOD!!!!
